You'll work within a large Technology and Data setting focused on delivering reliable, high-quality digital products and services.

Your new role

As the Principal Director, you'll lead a multidisciplinary, product-based technology team responsible for delivering, operating, supporting and continuously improving complex technology products and services.

You'll oversee the full product lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, release, production support, service performance and incident management. Working closely with Product Owners, architects, delivery partners and business stakeholders, you'll translate strategic priorities into clear delivery outcomes aligned with product roadmaps, security requirements and technology standards.

You'll also manage competing priorities, risks, dependencies and issues across multiple teams while building an accountable, collaborative and outcome-focused culture. This role will champion service reliability, customer experience and the responsible use of artificial intelligence,



automation and modern engineering practices.

What you'll need to succeed

- Active NV1 security clearance
- Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary technology teams
- Strong end-to-end digital product delivery and operational experience
- Demonstrated leadership across Agile and DevOps environments
- Experience managing production support, incidents and service performance
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Experience delivering complex technology programs across multiple teams
- Proven people leadership, coaching and capability development experience
- Australian Government or state or territory government experience
- Exposure to AI, automation or emerging technologies is highly regarded

What you'll get in return You'll secure an initial 12-month contract commencing in November 2026, with a further 12-month extension option. The role can be based in the ACT, NSW, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania or the Northern Territory.
