We are seeking an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing Geotechnical team and play a key leadership role in the continued development of our business.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide senior technical and strategic leadership across a diverse range of geotechnical engineering projects. Key responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership and oversight across geotechnical investigations, analysis, design and reporting
- Lead complex geotechnical investigation projects from planning through to delivery
- Provide expert technical advice and innovative engineering solutions to clients and project teams
- Review and approve geotechnical reports, designs and technical documentation
- Manage projects from small through to large scale, including budgets, schedules, field personnel and client liaison
- Coordinate field investigations, laboratory testing and subcontractors
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Prepare fee proposals, tender submissions and technical presentations




- Mentor and develop geotechnical engineers and support the growth of the Geotechnical Group

About you

- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Geotechnical Engineering) or equivalent recognised qualification
- 10–15+ years' experience in geotechnical consulting, with extensive Australian experience
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or eligibility
- RPEQ, NER or equivalent registration, or be working towards registration
- Strong project management and technical report writing skills
- Proven client relationship and business development experience
- Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring skills
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Full working rights in Australia
