We are searching for a Principal Process Engineer with a background in refinery operations. The successful candidate will have a background in the operation, maintenance, engineering, optimisation, or safety of fuel-burning equipment.

1x PRINCIPAL PROCESS ENGINEER

Location Geelong, VIC

Permanent Position

- Provide technical leadership in long term technical support/guidance to assigned Process Technologies in the refinery with the objective of optimising and sustaining the safety, reliability and profitability.
- Improve and optimize the site Operations by facilitating rapid problem solving of the Refinery’s complex process technical problems, following all relevant processes.
- Assists upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
- Ensure all activities are conducted and managed in accordance with agreed HSSE practices and procedure as outlined in the Geelong Refinery Management System.
- Tertiary engineering qualification, usually chemical engineering
- Deep understanding of continuous process plant operations, ideally oil refining (distillation, conversion, treating etc), or oil and gas processing.
- Provide focal point knowledge for fired equipment process design, safeguarding and operational safety.
- Demonstrated thorough understanding of technical (process plant) risk management techniques and decision making to As Low as Reasonably Practicable.




- Significant experience as a process engineer in (preferably) a Major Hazard Facility.
- Skilled as or ability to become a Process Engineering assurance/MOC signatory and HAZOP leader.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise all available communication channels.

We are seeking a technical expert in Process Engineering within an oil refinery. Your technical knowledge will see you focused on safety, driving change and innovation. You will understand the technical complexity associated with the future refinery technical plan.

Experienced in influencing through others, engaging stakeholder across all levels and leading change. Seeking experience with combustion equipment and processes that involve the controlled burning of fuel to generate heat, steam, or energy.
