The Opportunity

As we transition from project delivery into operations, we are seeking an experienced Process Manager to join the team on a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off roster to Mali, with candidates considered from Perth, elsewhere in Australia or internationally. The role will take ownership of the Kobada processing operation and build out and lead the team through commissioning, first gold and ramp-up and into steady-state production.

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key operational leadership role with responsibility for safe and reliable processing operations, metallurgical performance, plant availability, production and recovery outcomes.

You'll work closely with the broader site leadership team across Mining, Geology, Maintenance, Technical Services and Supply Chain to ensure the processing plant is ready for first ore and positioned for sustained operational performance.

The Role

This is a high-impact operational leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for the processing plant, from ore receival through to the gold room and tailings management. You’ll lead the processing team, establish the systems and standards needed for safe and reliable operations, drive metallurgical performance, and work closely with Maintenance and Technical Services to maximise plant availability, reliability and recovery.

Duties include;

- Lead safe, stable and effective processing plant operations from ore receival through to gold room and tailings
- Lead the processing team across expatriate and national employees, building capability and a high-performance culture
- Lead commissioning, start-up, ramp-up and transition into steady-state operations
- Establish and maintain robust operating standards, procedures, controls and reporting systems
- Drive throughput, recovery, plant availability and cost performance
- Lead mine-to-mill coordination across Mining, Geology, Maintenance, Technical Services and Supply Chain
- Oversee crushing, grinding, leaching/CIL, elution and gold room operations
- Drive metallurgical accounting, reconciliation, QAQC and process performance
- Optimise process parameters, reagent consumption, power and water usage
- Partner with Maintenance to maximise plant reliability and availability,



including shutdown planning and critical spares
- Maintain strong cyanide, tailings, process water and environmental management standards
- Ensure gold room security, metal accounting and chain-of-custody controls are maintained
- Manage the processing operating budget, forecasts, contracts, consumables and critical spares
- Identify and deliver operational, reliability and cost improvement opportunities
- Develop training, succession and localisation plans to build long-term national capability

Your First Six Months:

- Build the processing team, establish key accountabilities and embed a strong operating culture
- Work with the project and commissioning teams to prepare the plant for first ore and start-up
- Finalise the operating systems, procedures, controls and reporting required for safe and reliable operations
- Establish metallurgical accounting, reconciliation and performance reporting frameworks
- Confirm commissioning and ramp-up readiness across people, processes, equipment and critical spares
- Build strong working relationships across the broader site leadership team
- Establish the processing maintenance and shutdown strategy with the Maintenance team
- Implement the processing training, competency and localisation plan
- Support commissioning through first gold and into stable production, identifying early opportunities to improve plant performance

About You You'll be an experienced processing skilled with a strong operational background and the ability to lead a processing operation through commissioning, start-up and into production.

Just as importantly, you'll bring a can-do attitude, and the ability to roll up your sleeves and get things done. You’ll be personable, practical and comfortable working closely with people at all levels — from the plant floor to the senior leadership team.

You’ll enjoy building a team, mentoring and developing people, and setting a high-performance culture where people know what’s expected and are supported to succeed. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, solve problems in the field and do what needs to be done to get the plant operating safely, reliably and efficiently.





You'll ideally bring

- Degree qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, Minerals Processing or a related discipline
- 10+ years' experience in mineral processing operations, including senior leadership roles within gold processing plants
- Proven experience operating and/or commissioning a CIL/CIP gold processing plant
- Strong technical understanding of crushing, grinding, gravity, leaching/CIL/CIP, elution and gold room operations
- Strong understanding of metallurgical accounting, reconciliation, process optimisation and plant performance
- Experience working with plant control/DCS systems, process historians and metallurgical reporting tools
- Strong understanding of HSE and environmental requirements, including cyanide and tailings management
- Proven ability to manage processing budgets, costs, contractors and operational requirements
- Strong leadership capability, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, changing environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in Africa or other remote, multicultural operating environments is advantageous
- French language skills are advantageous, but not essential
