PROCUREMENT MANAGER

SALARY: $80K TO $100K PER ANNUM + SUPERANNUATION

Hazeldene's Chicken Farm Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Procurement Manager to manage and coordinate the procurement and purchasing of materials, products and services required for the effective operation of the business.

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships and contracts, controlling purchasing costs, and ensuring that required goods and services are available to support the company's poultry farming and associated operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the procurement and purchasing of materials, products and services across the business.

Develop, implement and monitor procurement strategies, policies and procedures.

Ensure the business maintains appropriate supplies and stock levels while controlling procurement costs.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Negotiate commercially appropriate supplier agreements and purchasing arrangements.

Ensure procurement activities meet the company's operational, quality, cost and delivery requirements.

Monitor supplier performance and address supply, quality, pricing or delivery issues.

Manage and supervise procurement-related activities and relevant staff where applicable.

Support continuity of supply for the company's poultry production and broader operational requirements.

TASKS

Determine, implement and monitor purchasing strategies, policies and procurement plans.

Analyse current and future purchasing requirements across farming, production, maintenance and supporting business operations.

Prepare and implement procurement plans to maintain required stock and supply levels at commercially sustainable costs.

Source and assess suppliers of materials, equipment, consumables and services required by the business.

Obtain and evaluate quotations, tenders and supplier proposals.

Negotiate pricing, supply terms,



contracts and service agreements with suppliers to achieve required quality, cost and delivery outcomes.

Research and identify new suppliers, products and alternative sources of supply where appropriate.

Participate in developing specifications and procurement requirements for equipment, products and substitute materials.

Monitor purchasing and inventory recording systems to confirm procurement requirements and appropriate re-ordering.

Monitor supplier delivery schedules and take corrective action where supply delays may affect business operations.

Coordinate with operational departments to determine purchasing requirements and procurement priorities.

Oversee the accurate recording and administration of purchase transactions, supplier agreements and procurement documentation.

Review supplier performance against agreed pricing, quality, service and delivery requirements.

Assist with quality controls relating to incoming goods and ensure suppliers meet agreed specifications.

Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, reduce costs and minimise supply-chain risk.

Direct procurement staff activities, where applicable, and monitor their performance.

Prepare procurement reports, forecasts, budgets and purchasing analyses for management.

QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree or higher qualification commensurate with the requirements of the occupation; or

At least five years of relevant procurement/purchasing experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

A qualification in procurement, supply chain management, business, commerce, logistics or a related discipline would be highly regarded.

Competency in procurement, purchasing, inventory and business information systems.

EXPERIENCE

Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing or supply-chain management at an appropriate managerial level.

Experience negotiating supplier contracts, pricing and commercial terms.

Experience developing and implementing purchasing and procurement strategies.

Demonstrated experience managing suppliers and monitoring supplier performance.

Experience managing purchasing requirements, stock availability and continuity of supply.

Experience analysing procurement costs and identifying opportunities for improved commercial outcomes.

Experience coordinating procurement activities across multiple operational departments.

Experience within agriculture, poultry production, food production, manufacturing or another operationally intensive environment would be highly regarded.

Applicants relying on experience as a substitute for a formal qualification should have at least five years of relevant experience.
