Sales & Student Recruitment Officer Jazz Music Institute | Brisbane | Full time

Jazz Music Institute (JMI) is seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales & Student Recruitment Officer to join our Brisbane team. This is primarily a sales and student recruitment role , with responsibility for generating, following up and converting prospective student enquiries into enrolments across JMI's higher education programs. You will work across both the domestic and international student markets , proactively developing relationships with education agents, schools, referral partners and prospective students while managing leads through the full recruitment pipeline. While sales and enrolment conversion will be your primary focus, you will also support practical marketing activities including social media, email campaigns, CRM campaigns and basic digital content designed to generate new leads. Your success in this role will be measured primarily by student enrolments, lead conversion, pipeline development and agent/referral performance .

Key responsibilities

- Proactively generate, follow up and convert prospective student leads into applications and enrolments
- Manage inbound and outbound enquiries from domestic and international prospective students
- Conduct regular telephone, email and CRM follow-up with prospective students
- Build and maintain relationships with education agents to generate international student referrals
- Proactively identify and develop new education agent and referral relationships
- Develop domestic recruitment opportunities through schools, community organisations, events and other channels
- Guide prospective students through course options, entry requirements, applications and enrolment
- Work towards clearly defined individual and Institute enrolment targets for each intake




- Maintain an active sales pipeline using HubSpot CRM , ensuring leads are followed up consistently
- Maintain accurate records of leads, applications, conversions, agent activity and recruitment outcomes
- Re-engage previous enquiries and inactive leads through targeted campaigns
- Represent JMI at education expos, agent events, school visits, open days and information sessions
- Assist with email and CRM marketing campaigns designed to generate and convert student enquiries
- Support JMI's social media activities and promote courses, events and upcoming intakes
- Create basic social media graphics, advertisements and short-form videos using Canva, CapCut or similar tools
- Work with external marketing providers where required to support lead-generation campaigns
- Monitor lead sources and campaign performance to identify the channels producing the strongest enrolment results
- Work closely with academic and administration teams to ensure a smooth transition from enquiry to enrolment
- Provide regular reports on leads, applications, enrolments, conversion rates, agent activity and sales pipeline

About you

You are a sales-focused and commercially minded person who enjoys speaking with people, building relationships, following up opportunities and achieving targets. Ideally, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in sales, student recruitment or business development
- Experience within higher education, international education or student recruitment
- Experience working with education agents and/or international student recruitment pipelines
- Experience in domestic student recruitment would be highly regarded
- A demonstrated track record of achieving sales, revenue or enrolment targets
- Strong telephone sales and follow-up skills
- Confidence developing new relationships and approaching prospective referral partners
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience using HubSpot or another CRM system
- A practical understanding of social media and digital marketing
