Ignite Engineering is a mechanical/structural engineering consultancy with offices in both Brisbane and Toowoomba. Our mission is to simplify the delivery of innovative engineering solutions to complex and unique projects.

This role will be based in either the Murarrie or Toowoomba office.

n

Our work spans some of Australia’s largest and most challenging infrastructure projects. Our team has built a strong reputation for efficiently delivering bespoke design solutions across these complex environments. We are ultra-client focused and deliberately different from the status quo within engineering consultancies, particularly across the industries we service.

n

Most of our clients are themselves degree-qualified engineers who are specialists in their chosen field. Our engineers and designers are therefore required to be at the top of their game, with a passion for solving problems and providing elegant and efficient solutions. Our clients have high expectations, so do we.

About 80% of our projects are design (concept through to detailed design) and 20% in assessment of the work of others. Within the design projects we currently undertake approximately 80% are temporary works and the remainder being permanent works. Almost every project we undertake is completely unique. Common industries or types of projects we complete includes:

Tunnelling (all construction phases)

Bridge building

n

Heavy lift equipment

n

Complex fabricated structures

Access systems

Please note that the Murarrie office is only accessible via stairs.

The role: n

Based in either the Murarrie or Toowoomba office

n

Manage and deliver all aspects of projects (concept through to detailed design) within a professional consultancy environment.

n

Design and analysis of unique & complex mechanical and structural projects in accordance with Australian Standards.

n

Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) utilising ‘Strand7’,



‘SolidWorks’ and ‘Ansys’ software.

n

Prepare technical documents such as design reports and certificates.

n

Interface with our clients including performing site visits and inspections.

n

Utilise SolidWorks to produce 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design requirements.

n

Australian citizen/permanent resident, residing in south-east Queensland.

n

3+ years of consultancy or relevant design experience.

n

Ambitions to progress towards RPEQ status.

n

Experienced with design of fabricated steel structures.

n

Sound working knowledge of Australian Standards such as AS1170 (suite), AS1657, AS4100, AS4991, AS3600 (structural/civil).

n

Practical background or outlook.

n

Excellent organisational & planning skills with an ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.

n

High level of professional versatility.

n

3D modelling and 2D drafting experience using SolidWorks.
