This is a hands-u2010on role for someone who knows the market, enjoys building relationships and is driven by turning promising sites into commercial deals. This is a hands-u2010on commercial pursuit role. You will find the right decision makers, build relationships, stay close to upcoming developments and tenders, and turn early conversations into viable sites and negotiated agreements.

Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Head of Network Development, you will secure shopping centre and retail strip locations and contribute to decisions across the existing lease portfolio. A major focus is also identifying and securing opportunities beyond conventional retail sites - including airports, universities, hospitals and major events.

What you will do

- Find decision makers, track upcoming tenders and developments, make direct approaches and build a continuing national pipeline.
- Assess each opportunity against brand requirements and work with the team to test site economics and franchise partner viability.
- Negotiate commercial terms with landlords, agents, developers and venue operators, and progress opportunities through to agreement.
- Secure sites in shopping centres and retail strips, and contribute to renewals, relocations, rent reviews and other portfolio decisions.
- Proactively pursue opportunities in airports, universities, hospitals, major events and other non-u2010traditional settings.

What you will bring

You may come from a QSR or food retail group, broader retail leasing, a landlord or agency, or a role combining leasing with franchise development. You could be an established manager or a leasing skilled ready for a wider remit. What matters most is your ability to open doors, create a pipeline and negotiate strong commercial outcomes - including in markets where relationships and opportunities must be built from scratch.

- Practical experience in retail leasing, site sourcing or closely related network development.
- The ability to negotiate commercial lease terms and recognise when a retail location makes sense for the business and its operators.
- A proactive approach to identifying decision makers, making contact, pursuing referrals and tenders, and staying with opportunities through long deal cycles.
- Commercial judgement, a collaborative approach and the confidence to work with a small, experienced team.
- A Melbourne base and the ability to work across a national portfolio.
