Milestone IT is currently working with a well-established Managed Service Provider (MSP) to recruit an experienced Systems Engineer for a full-time position.

n

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Systems Engineer who enjoys working across complex infrastructure environments and wants to be part of a team that delivers high-quality solutions to a diverse range of clients.
n You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting enterprise infrastructure, with a particular focus on virtualisation, storage, backup and Microsoft technologies.

About the Role n

As a Systems Engineer, you will work across a range of client environments, providing both project-based and operational support. You’ll be involved in maintaining highly available infrastructure, troubleshooting complex technical issues, implementing solutions and helping clients get the most from their technology investments.

This is afull-time rolesuited to an engineer who is comfortable working independently, taking ownership of technical issues and operating within an MSP environment.

Key Responsibilities n

- Design, implement and support Microsoft-based infrastructure environments.

- Manage and troubleshootHyper-V virtualisation and Failover Clustering.
n
- Configure and supportSAS and iSCSI SAN storage environments.
n
- Deploy and maintainDell and HPE enterprise server and infrastructure hardware.
n
- Implement and supportStarWind vSANenvironments.
n
- Configure and manageVeeam Service Providerproducts and backup solutions.
n
- SupportMicrosoft Entra IDand associated Microsoft cloud services.
n
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, storage and virtualisation issues.
n
- Perform infrastructure upgrades, migrations and project implementations.
n
- Monitor system performance, availability and capacity.
n
- Maintain high standards around security, documentation, backup and disaster recovery.
n
- Work closely with clients and internal technical teams to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with:

- Hyper-V Failover Clustering
n
- SAS / iSCSI SANs

- Dell and/or HPE enterprise hardware

- StarWind vSAN
n
- Veeam Service Provider products
n
- Microsoft Entra ID
n
- Microsoft Windows Server environments
n
- Enterprise virtualisation and storage
n
- Backup and disaster recovery technologies
n
- Troubleshooting complex infrastructure environments

About You n

You are a practical, technically capable Systems Engineer who enjoys solving problems and working with modern infrastructure technologies.

n

You’ll ideally have:

n

n
- Proven experience working as aSystems Engineer in an MSP or similar environment.
n
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
n
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft server and infrastructure technologies.
n
- Experience working with enterprise storage and virtualisation platforms.
n
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and client environments.
n
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
n
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
n
- The ability to work independently while also contributing to a broader technical team.
n
- A genuine interest in infrastructure and keeping your technical skills current.
n
