The Area Leader role owns the day-to-day operational performance of every Brooki store in their Area, leading Store Managers to deliver the same joyful customer experience, beautiful product and strong commercial results in every location, every day, working hand in hand with the National Retail Operations Manager, who sets the direction and priorities for the network.
As Brooki grows from nine stores toward twenty-one by the end of 2026, this leadership is what keeps the network commercially strong, beautifully presented, and fully compliant, with teams who feel valued and clear on what outstanding looks like.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Performance

- Work in close partnership with the People, Culture & Training Manager on recruitment, onboarding, capability and performance support — this role leads the day-to-day, PC&T; leads the frameworks and tracking;
- Oversee roster planning and approval across all Area stores — fully compliant with the applicable Award and cost-efficient against labour budgets ;
- Escalate any employment compliance concern appropriately, the moment it’s identified;
- Build a high-performance culture where every team member feels valued, supported and clear on what great looks like .
Product Quality & Food Safety
- Protect Brooki’s non-negotiable standards for product quality, freshness and presentation — every store, every day — partnering with the Product and Bake Leader on standards visits and site-level follow-up;
- Run regular audits of product display, labelling, storage and handling practices, and flag product quality issues to the Product and Bake Leader promptly;
- Work hand in hand with the Production Kitchen to match supply with demand — minimising waste without ever running the case empty;
- Ensure food safety requirements under relevant legislation are met in every store.
Operations, Compliance & New Store Openings
- Ensure all stores operate in line with applicable legislation, food safety, Work Health & Safety and Fair Work obligations, and adhere to Brooki’s SOPs for opening, closing, cash handling and security;
- Lead day-to-day operations in line with network systems (Connecteam, Deputy, Square);
- Lead or support new store openings in your Area : recruitment, training, fit-out input and launch execution, in partnership with the National Retail Operations Manager;
