About the role

Stepping Stones Children's Services is seeking an experienced and passionate Centre Director to lead our Miandetta Children's Centre in Devonport, Tasmania. This is a full-time position based on-site at our 99 place child care facility for birth - 12 yrs.

As Centre Director, you will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care programs that support the development and wellbeing of the children in our care.

What you'll be doing

- Lead excellence in governance, compliance, and continuous improvement—aligned with National Law and Regulations
- Collaborate with the Educational Leader to embed a high-quality, play-based curriculum aligned with relevant EYLF frameworks
- Champion reflective practice and data-informed planning through QIPs and A&R; feedback
- Mentor, inspire, and empower a team of educators , fostering professional growth and wellbeing
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with families, the community, and all stakeholders
- Oversee strategic operations, including budgeting, transparent governance, and long-term service sustainability
- Ensure full compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements

What we are seeking

What we're looking for

- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Centre Director or in a senior leadership role in the early childhood education sector
- Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field




- Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework and ability to implement best practice
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Strong business and financial management capabilities
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating high-performing teams
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a culture of learning
- A strong commitment to all aspects of child safety, including child protection, mandatory reporting and adopting the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations inclusive of the Tasmanian Child Safe Standards
