- Build products for integrative healthcare practitioners
- Hybrid role (minimum 1 day in Alexandria office each week)
Build products that make a difference
Our customers are natural and integrative healthcare practitioners. They are naturopaths, nutritionists, herbalists, integrative GPs and other healthcare professionals who have dedicated their careers to helping people improve their health.
Our technology is part of how they do that.
Practitioners use vital.ly to research complementary medicines, manage their dispensaries and prescribe for their patients, with built-in clinical safety tools that help identify potential interactions and other prescribing considerations. Prescriptions are then fulfilled and delivered directly to their patients. What we build can make their work easier, safer and more effective, giving them more time to focus on their patients and their practice.
We're looking for a Product Manager who wants to understand the problems that matter to those customers and own the products that help solve them.
You'll also find that understanding of our customers inside vital.ly. A significant number of our team are qualified healthcare practitioners themselves, working across Product, Customer Service, Community, Sales and Operations.
That means you'll be surrounded by people who care deeply about the profession we support and who bring different perspectives to the problems we're solving.
The opportunity
This is a hands-on Product Manager role with genuine ownership of customer-facing product areas.
You'll spend time talking with practitioners, looking at how they use our products, working through feedback and data and identifying the problems worth solving.
You'll turn those insights into clear product priorities and work closely with Design and Engineering to take ideas from discovery and validation through to launch and iteration.
You'll own your product areas rather than simply being handed a roadmap to deliver. That means deciding what we should work on, making sensible trade-offs, bringing people with you and being accountable for whether what we build delivers the customer and business outcomes we expected.
You'll report to our Head of Product and join a growing Product team where you'll have room to contribute to how we work as well as what we build.
What you’ll be doing
You'll
- Own customer-facing product areas from discovery through to launch, measurement and iteration;
- Use customer interviews, usability testing, product data, feedback, commercial information and market signals to understand customer needs, identify opportunities and decide what matters most;
- Own and prioritise the roadmap for your product areas, making clear decisions about what we build, what we don't and what comes next;
- Work closely with Design and Engineering to explore problems,
write clear product requirements, prototype ideas, validate solutions and turn them into products customers can use;
- Define what success looks like before we build and measure what happens after we launch;
- Own launches through rollout and post-launch monitoring, working with Customer Service, Sales, Community and other teams to make sure they are understood and supported;
- Build business cases and understand how product decisions affect customer experience, revenue, retention, margin and cost-to-serve;
- Navigate the additional considerations that come with building healthcare products, including identifying when clinical, privacy or regulatory review is needed before release;
- Keep an eye on competitors and market developments that could affect your product areas;
- Lead prioritisation and trade-off decisions and clearly explain those decisions to the people they affect;
- Keep learning from what we ship and use those insights to decide what we should improve next.
You might be a great fit if
You're a hands-on Product Manager who is comfortable working out what matters most and seeing it through.
You're interested in natural and integrative healthcare and would enjoy getting close to naturopaths, nutritionists, herbalists and other practitioners to understand how they work, what problems really need solving and where technology can make a meaningful difference.
You've developed your product craft in a robust product environment. You understand discovery, validation and prioritisation, and how to balance customer value with business value when deciding what to build and why. Your experience goes beyond managing projects, coordinating delivery or writing requirements for solutions someone else has already decided to build.
You're comfortable working closely with designers and engineers and value the different perspectives they bring to a problem.
You're collaborative by nature. You listen well, communicate clearly and can bring people with you, while still being comfortable making a decision when there isn't one obvious answer.
You care about outcomes rather than output. Shipping matters, but you also want to know whether customers used what you built, whether it made a meaningful difference for them and whether it delivered the business value you expected.
And you're comfortable in a growing company where not every process has already been designed for you. You'll have support when you need it,
but you'll also have the freedom to work out better ways of doing things.
Your product experience
You might have around 3–5 years' experience in product management, although we're much more interested in the level you've operated at, what you've owned, what you've learned and how you work than the number of years on your CV.
We'd like to see that you have:
- Owned a meaningful product area and taken products or significant features from discovery through to launch and iteration;
- Worked in an environment with strong product management practices where you've developed your craft;
- Used qualitative and quantitative evidence to prioritise a roadmap and make product decisions;
- Worked closely with Design and Engineering throughout the product lifecycle;
- Worked cross-functionally with teams such as Customer Service, Sales and Marketing on go-to-market planning and product launches;
- Taken responsibility for measurable customer and commercial outcomes, not just whether something shipped on time;
- Worked successfully in a growing organisation of a similar size or stage, where you've needed to be hands-on and comfortable operating without large enterprise structures around you; and
- Used modern product tools, including AI, no-code or low-code tools, to explore, prototype or validate ideas.
To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizen with unrestricted working rights in Australia.
