Air Radiators is a leading Australian manufacturer of specialised heat transfer and engineered cooling solutions. For over 50 years we have designed and manufactured customised products for customers across mining, defence, transport, power generation and industrial sectors.

About the Role

Working closely with the Operations Manager, manufacturing leads and engineering team, you will help move products through manufacture. You will answer technical questions, resolve production and product-quality issues, coordinate changes and make sure engineering and customer requirements are understood in manufacturing.

This is a broad role in a 40-person operation. It combines practical production engineering and product quality with responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Gillman ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The role is not focused on plant automation. You will spend time in manufacturing, understand what is happening and make sure both immediate issues and the underlying system actions are followed through to a workable outcome.

What you will be doing

- Supporting manufacturing leads and operators with technical questions during manufacture

- Reviewing drawings, BOMs, specifications and customer requirements when production issues arise





- Investigating product and manufacturing problems and coordinating practical corrective actions

- Managing NCRs, deviations and follow-up actions through to completion

- Working with design engineering to coordinate drawing updates, engineering changes and lessons from production

- Developing inspection requirements, test plans, work instructions and other documents needed to build and verify products

- Supporting new and customised products as they move from engineering into manufacture

- Working with purchasing and suppliers when component quality or technical issues affect production

- Helping prevent repeat problems by improving the way work is understood, controlled and checked

- Maintaining and coordinating the Gillman ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including controlled documentation, internal audits, corrective actions and support for external audits

About You

You are an engineer who wants to build your career close to manufacturing. This could suit someone building their engineering experience or someone ready to take broader responsibility across production support, product quality and ISO 9001 in a smaller operation.

- You hold a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or a closely related engineering discipline

- You bring some relevant experience from manufacturing, product engineering, quality, applications engineering or a similar practical setting.



We are more interested in what you have done and how you work than a set number of years

- You can read and work confidently with engineering drawings, BOMs and technical specifications

- You have experience investigating production or product-quality problems and following actions through

- You have some exposure to quality systems, NCRs, audits or corrective actions and are ready to build your capability in ISO 9001

- You are comfortable working directly with manufacturing leads, operators, engineers, suppliers and customers

- You communicate clearly, keep accurate records and take ownership when an issue needs to be resolved

- Experience with ISO 9001, engineer-to-order products, fabrication, welding, assembly or inspection would be useful, but none of it is essential.

We can teach you our products and processes, and you do not need to arrive as an ISO specialist. You will need to learn the Gillman system, take responsibility for maintaining it and be comfortable following issues through. What matters most is sound engineering judgement, practical problem-solving and a genuine interest in production engineering as a career
