About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our team at Sydney Print Media in South Granville, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of our production operations.

As Production

Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing resources, optimising workflow efficiency, and ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and on time. This position is instrumental in maintaining our reputation for excellence and directly impacts our ability to meet client expectations and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

- Planning and scheduling production activities to meet project deadlines and client requirements, ensuring optimal resource allocation and workflow
- Overseeing daily production operations and maintaining production schedules across all equipment and departments
- Managing inventory levels of materials, supplies, and finished goods to minimise waste and ensure continuity of production
- Monitoring production performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency initiatives
- Supervising and coordinating the production team,



including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies throughout all production activities
- Liaising with sales, customer service, and administrative departments to coordinate project requirements and manage expectations
- Conducting quality control checks and implementing corrective actions to maintain consistent product quality
- Maintaining detailed production records, documentation, and reporting on production outcomes and performance
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency within the production environment

What we're looking for

- Proven experience of at least 5 years in a production management or production planning role, ideally within the printing, manufacturing, or media production industry
- Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management systems and methodologies
- Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with production management software and systems; experience with scheduling and resource planning tools is highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong supervisory and personnel management experience




- Solid understanding of quality control principles and health and safety regulations within a manufacturing or production workplace
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments and with external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to work with data and reports
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and a commitment to maintaining high standards of operational excellence
