The Project and Communications Officer - Mental Health will provide specialist services across the District incorporating internal and external communications support. The position will require flexibility to work collaboratively with the Communications & Media team in the Office of the Chief Executive whilst specialising in matters for Mental Health Services. The position will deliver high-level advice and streamlined communication and correspondence from within the overall business unit.

This will include the preparation of media releases, community and staff information, the promotion of ISLHD services, initiatives and events. The Officer will be involved in the development of strategic communication initiatives and media involving both traditional and social channels. The Officer will be involved in the preparation, review and management of executive and ministerial correspondence and briefings in line with key priorities.

The position requires the individual to be highly organised, with excellent writing skills, and a strong administrator with solid skills in identifying, and responding to, contentious issues.
