Join the CEFC as a Project Analyst in our Rewiring the Nation (RTN) team and help deliver the Australian Government’s program to decarbonise the electricity sector and build a resilient clean energy grid.

This newly created role will build the analytical infrastructure behind reporting for a portfolio of nationally significant electricity grid and clean energy infrastructure projects, from data sources and databases through to dashboards used by deal leads and portfolio managers.

You will help establish this capability from the ground up, while being supported by subject matter experts and great managers. You will help design data management and reporting processes, set standards, and determine how project time, cost, issue and risk data is collated and visualised.

You will read, source and verify data from subscription databases, government publications and industry sources, alongside analytics and Power BI work. Getting the data right is what makes investment, energy market and portfolio insights trustworthy.

We’re looking for a perceptive, detail-driven analyst with 2–5 years’ experience who enjoys finding and fixing data issues. Energy or transmission experience is nice to have (but not mandatory).

The role you’ll play

As a Project Analyst in the RTN team you will:

- Maintain accurate, complete and consistently structured project analytics
- Source,



verify and integrate data from subscription databases and publicly available government, regulatory and industry publications
- Maintain databases behind reporting and network mapping tools, and check that related visualisations remain accurate
- Prepare time and cost reporting, tracking budgets, forecasts and actuals against approved plans and analysing variances
- Support the project issues register by tracking status, ownership and resolution timeframes, and flagging emerging risks
- Build and maintain Power BI or equivalent dashboards and reports covering RTN investments, pipeline, portfolio and project performance, cost, schedule and risk
- Improve reporting templates, data structures and analytical processes across the team
- Assist with reporting packs and briefing materials for governance forums, investment committees and senior stakeholders
- Work with portfolio management, origination, technical and research teams to gather inputs and keep reporting current

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Two to five years’ experience as a project analyst, data analyst, BI analyst or in a similar reporting-focused role in a project-based sector such as infrastructure, construction, energy, mining, transport, IT or consulting
- Hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in Power BI or a comparable business intelligence tool using multiple data sources
- Strong data transformation skills, including cleaning, validating and integrating data, with a genuine interest in data quality
- Database management skills that extend beyond Excel, with the ability to work with larger and growing data sets




- A sound understanding of project cost and time reporting, budgeting and variance analysis
- High attention to detail and strong data governance habits, including documenting sources, assumptions and version control
- Critical thinking and the ability to identify useful analysis, not just run what you’re asked to run
- Good stakeholder engagement skills and confidence working across teams to gather requirements and share insights
- A collaborative, low-ego approach and willingness to take on a broad range of tasks in a lean team
- A strong interest in decarbonisation, clean energy and Australia’s energy transition
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a discipline such as data analytics, finance, economics, business, engineering or a related field
