We're continuing to grow and are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our project delivery team, complementing our strong pipeline of work in hand and upcoming projects across Newcastle and the surrounding areas. THE ROLE

This role provides specialist HSE support and advice to Decode project management staff, subcontractors and workers, with a specific focus on implementing Decode’s HSE management system to ensure all company HSE policies and procedures and regulatory requirements are implemented at the project level and are effective.

The Project HSE Advisor is responsible the following areas;

- Continuously demonstrate a personal commitment to Decode’s Policies and Standards to achieve and maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment
- Assist in the improvement of the project’s HSE performance through consultation, monitoring, advice, and enforcement of Decode WHSE requirements.
- Review, monitor and report on project HSE key performance indicators.




- Provide advice and direction for the proper implementation and administration of the Project WHS Management Plan and Project Environmental Management Plan.
- Carry out regular HSE inspections to monitor compliance with safe work practices and company policies and procedures pertaining to WHSE.
- Prepare for and attend internal and external Project HSE Audits including the closure of corrective actions in conjunction with the project team.
- Prepare for and attend internal Project HSE Assessment including the closure of corrective actions in conjunction with the project team.
- Organise, coordinate, and implement project risk Workshops in coordination with the Project Manager and in compliance with the Project Risk Workshop schedule.
- Maintain Risk Workshop records in compliance with Decode WHS Risk Management requirements.
- Actively participate in Project Risk Workshops and provide and ensure adequate control measures are in place based on the Hierarchy of Control.
- Maintain an updated Project Risk Register including risk Workshop records, and Safety in Design records in coordination with the Project Manager and Design manager/Coordinator.
- Report injuries and incidents in compliance with Decode requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE performance and provide regular reports to Project Manager, Construction manager and HSEQ Manager.

ABOUT YOU

- Proven experience as a HSE advisor within the residential/commercial construction industry
- Understanding of regulatory requirements relating to HSE




- Able to comprehend the required policies and procedures in order to ensure the projects have sufficient training and guidance necessary to meet HSE requirements.
- Able to provide timely, relevant, succinct advice to project team;
- Robust team building, influencing and leadership characteristics in all HSE matters
- Able to communicate HSE matters to a broad range of stakeholders
- Demonstrate ability to implement and maintain a HSE Plan which is fit for purpose and provides a high level of assurance of product and contractual conformance in respect of the company’s project sites
- Driven with a desire to achieve results in a team environment and ensure the highest standard of outcomes;
- Demonstrating high ethical standards, integrity and commitment to all business and commercial dealings.
