PARAMATTA NSW 2150 Salary range: $51,500-$60,000 plus superannuation About the Role:

Glow Healthcare Agency provides in-home and supported care services to older people and people living with disability. We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant / Aged or Disabled Carer to deliver safe, respectful and person-centred support to clients in their homes and in the community. The role involves assisting clients with daily living, personal care, domestic tasks, mobility, social participation and general wellbeing, while promoting dignity, independence, choice and quality of life.

The successful applicant will work as part of a supportive care team and will be required to follow individual care and support plans, organisational policies and procedures, and reasonable directions from supervisors and relevant health professionals. Key Responsibilities Provide personal care support, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence support.

Assist clients with mobility, transfers, repositioning and the safe use of mobility aids, where trained. Assist with meals, hydration and feeding support where required. Provide domestic assistance, including light cleaning, laundry, tidying, bed making and general household support.

Support medication prompting or assistance in line with organisational policy and delegated instructions, where applicable. Provide companionship, emotional support and respectful communication to clients. Support clients to participate in social activities, appointments, shopping and community access where required.

Follow individual care and support plans, routines and client goals.



Encourage independence, choice, dignity and client participation in daily activities. Observe and report changes in a client’s health, behaviour, mood, appetite, mobility, skin integrity or general wellbeing.

Complete accurate documentation, including progress notes, shift handovers and incident reports. Follow infection control procedures, hygiene standards and PPE requirements. Apply safe manual handling techniques and work health and safety practices at all times.

Support positive behaviours using respectful communication and de-escalation strategies, where trained. Maintain privacy, confidentiality and client rights in all interactions. Report hazards, incidents, near misses, risks and concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor.

Work collaboratively with families, guardians, supervisors and the wider care team as required.

Skills & Experience Relevant AQF Certificate III or equivalent in Individual Support, Ageing, Disability, Community Services or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a relevant care or support role. Solid understanding of person-centred care, duty of care, safeguarding and client rights. Good communication skills and confidence completing written documentation.

Ability to follow care plans, policies, procedures and workplace instructions. Reliable, empathetic, patient and respectful.

Mandatory Requirements

Current First Aid and CPR certificate. National Police Check.

NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or Working With Children Check, if required.

Manual handling and infection control training. Evidence of relevant vaccinations, if required for the work environment or placement. Driver’s licence and own transport, if community-based work is required.
