About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Property and Commercial Lawyer to join our team in a remote/hybrid capacity and work closely with our conveyancing team. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys property law but also wants to be more than just a file handler. You’ll work across transactions, complex matters and escalations, while supporting and mentoring the broader team and helping us continually improve the way we deliver our services.

The right candidate will be responsible for:

- Managing a file load end-to-end across residential and commercial property transactions, including conveyancing, off-the-plan, manufactured homes, retirement village matters, and commercial and industrial leasing;
- Handling complex property transfers and building robust relationships with clients and referrers;
- Drafting, reviewing and settling contracts of sale, special conditions, deeds and other transactional documents requiring legal analysis;
- Preparing lease documentation and supporting conveyancers with leasing,



commercial and other complex or bespoke property law matters;
- Receiving and determining escalations from the Team Lead and conveyancing staff where legal advice, discretion or lawyer sign-off is required;
- Taking responsibility for compliance and PEXA sign-offs;
- Contributing to technical training, peer review and the ongoing development of precedents and guidance notes alongside the Team Lead and Knowledge and Support Lead;
- Reviewing standard precedents, special conditions and disclosure templates to ensure they remain legally accurate and current;
- Working collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team and supporting the conveyancing team across property and general commercial matters; and
- Maintaining admission to the legal profession, a current practising certificate in good standing and all required continuing professional development.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong but, just as importantly, the right fit for our team.

You’ll ideally have

- A minimum of two years’ experience handling property and commercial transactions, including managing clients and referrer relationships;
- A genuine interest in people and building relationships – not just managing files;
- A hardworking, driven and positive approach;
- Strong initiative and the confidence to make decisions and take ownership;
- Excellent communication and organisational skills; and
- The discipline and independence to thrive in a remote/hybrid working environment while still being an active part of the wider team.
