About the Opportunity Our client provides essential mental health and therapeutic services to individuals, youth, and families across the Hunter region.

We are seeking a Full-Time Psychologist (General Registration) or Provisional Psychologist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team in Newcastle.

Whether you are an experienced clinician with a background in youth mental health, crisis intervention, or complex community care (such as Headspace or Lifeline), or a Provisional Psychologist looking for high-quality clinical oversight to complete your registration pathways, this role offers stability, diverse clinical exposure, and strong organisational support without the administrative overhead of supervision.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver evidence-based face-to-face and telehealth psychological interventions to a diverse caseload spanning youth, adolescents, and adults.
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments, developing clear formulations and individualised treatment plans.
- Support clients presenting with complex presentations, including trauma, mood disorders, crisis/suicidal ideation, and family dynamics.
- Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders (GPs, CAMHS, community services, and schools).
- Maintain transparent clinical documentation, case notes, and treatment progress reports.

$118,000 base salary for Registered Psychologists; $95,000 – $105,000 base salary for Provisional Psychologists.

About You

- Qualifications: Degree/Postgraduate qualification in Psychology with current AHPRA registration (General or Provisional Registration).
- Clinical Expertise: Experience in evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, or Suicide Intervention/Crisis Support. Experience in youth mental health (e.g., Headspace) or crisis/aftercare counselling (e.g., Lifeline) is highly regarded.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect authentically with young people, families, and adult clients.
- Compliance: Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (or willing to obtain prior to start).
