About the business Our client is an established supplier of blasting and coating equipment, with a multi-branch operation and a network of local and international suppliers.

They are seeking an experienced Purchasing & Logistics Manager to maintain stock availability, strengthen supplier relationships and coordinate the movement of equipment and spare parts across the business.

About the role

Based in Kewdale and reporting to the Regional Manager / Managing Director, you will oversee purchasing, logistics and warehouse management, working closely with sales and warehouse teams to keep stock accurate and customer requirements on track.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing day-to-day purchasing with supplier negotiations, freight coordination and inventory improvement.

Your responsibilities will include

- Raising purchase orders for equipment and spare parts with appropriate suppliers
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing, availability and lead times
- Analysing stock requirements and maintaining availability across the top 200 sales lines
- Following up backorders at least twice weekly and providing clear updates to sales
- Coordinating international freight, negotiating freight rates and reporting on movements weekly
- Maintaining purchasing registers and accurately processing supplier and inventory invoices




- Working with warehouse staff to complete monthly inventory counts and regular stocktakes
- Maintaining inventory accuracy within a ±1.5% variance and investigating discrepancies
- Monitoring stock movements, minimising out-of-stock items and identifying dead stock
- Processing warranty returns and documentation within required timeframes
- Supporting the implementation of a new stock management system when available

About you You will bring at least five years’ experience in procurement and logistics, along with a practical approach to problem-solving and the confidence to manage competing priorities autonomously.

We’re looking for

- Experience across local, national and international supply chains
- Experience working within a multi-branch business
- Strong knowledge of inventory registers, stock adjustments and stocktake processes
- The ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and freight providers
- Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook, alongside experience with MYOB AccountRight and MYOB Acumatica
- Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- The ability to meet deadlines, resolve supply issues and work closely with internal and external stakeholders

Experience in the blasting or coating industries would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
