About the role

Industrial Batteries Australia Pty Ltd (IBA), an established leader in the Industrial Battery industry servicing the Materials Handling, Industrial Equipment and Ground Support Equipment markets, is seeking an experienced, driven and hands on Team Leader. This full-time position is based in our Queensland, Office and will play a crucial role in supporting the established Branch.

About the Role

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and leadership of our technicians and workshop activities while remaining actively involved in the physical and technical work required within the operation. You will help ensure the team understands what needs to be completed each day, jobs are properly prioritised, productivity is maintained and customers receive a high standard of service.

The successful candidate will be someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly and is willing to step in and get the job done when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of technicians and workshop staff.
- Allocate and prioritise jobs to ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Work hands-on alongside the team with battery servicing, installations, repairs and general workshop activities.
- Ensure technicians understand their responsibilities and daily priorities.
- Monitor job progress and follow up outstanding work.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and housekeeping.
- Ensure jobs, paperwork and system information are completed accurately.
- Assist with stock control, battery movements and workshop organisation.
- Identify operational issues early and escalate them where required.
- Support training and development of team members.
- Promote accountability, teamwork and a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure company procedures, safety requirements and customer expectations are consistently followed.




- Support management with the overall performance and efficiency of the operation.

About You

We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience leading or supervising a hands-on operational, mechanical, electrical, automotive, warehousing or service team.
- Is comfortable managing people while also performing physical work.
- Leads by example rather than simply directing others.
- Has solid organisational and time-management skills.
- Can prioritise multiple jobs in a busy operational environment.
- Communicates confidently with employees, management and customers.
- Takes ownership and follows tasks through to completion.
- Has strong attention to detail.
- Is safety-focused and maintains high workplace standards.
- Is dependable, hardworking and accountable.
- Is willing to learn the industrial battery industry.

Experience with industrial batteries material-handling equipment would be highly regarded; however, training can be provided to the right person.
