Clinical Support Queensland are excited to welcome applications for a Senior Biomedical Technician to join the Biomedical Technology Services (BTS) team in Cairns! BTS provides a comprehensive health technology management, service and support capability to Hospital and Health Services and other parts of Queensland Health through the state-wide delivery of biomedical engineering, diagnostic medical physics, and radiology support services.

About the role:

As a Senior Biomedical Technician, you will be an integral part of a team delivering technical services including repairs, planned maintenance and other technology support services to ensure the safety and effectiveness of electronic and/or mechanical health technology equipment and systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

- Deliver high-level technology support services with minimal supervision including but not limited to preventive maintenance, repairs, installation, commissioning, de-installation and general technical support.
- Independently solve complex technical problems regarding health technology equipment and systems.
- Perform cross-discipline activity as required.
- Accurately document activity in the relevant information systems.
- Provide supervision, training and support to fellow team members, including technical practice supervision and/or supervision of small work groups.
- Assist supervisors and managers as directed with service planning, establishing priorities and scheduling major work programs.
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical staff, equipment suppliers, service providers, team members and managers,



to achieve service delivery objectives.
- Contribute to the development and continual improvement of technical practice and processes.

Role fit:

You will bring advanced knowledge, expertise and technical skills in the maintenance, installation and support of health technology equipment and systems, with the ability to independently plan, coordinate and deliver technical services using sound judgement and initiative. You will demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills when working with clinical staff, suppliers, service providers, team members and managers, and contribute effectively as part of a team to achieve organisational goals. You will also demonstrate a solid commitment to quality management and continuous improvement, with a focus on enhancing technical services and outcomes.
