We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Electronic Design Engineer to join our R&D; team based in Prestons, NSW. Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development and continuous improvement of electronic products from concept through to production. As a senior member of the Electronics Design team, you’ll provide technical leadership, contribute to innovative product development programs, and collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, sourcing and international stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer and market needs.

Key responsibilities

Leading electronic design activities across new product development and product improvement projects

Conducting feasibility assessments and supporting business case development for current product concepts

Designing analogue and digital electronic circuits and PCB layouts using Altium

Developing, testing and validating prototypes and production-ready solutions

Preparing technical documentation including BOMs, specifications, test reports, assembly instructions and product documentation

Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineers within the Electronics Design team

Supporting project teams with technical expertise, planning and execution activities

Troubleshooting design and production issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions

Collaborating with local and offshore suppliers, manufacturers and certification bodies

Ensuring products comply with Australian and New Zealand standards and regulatory requirements

About you

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

Demonstrated experience in electronic product design and development within a manufacturing or product development environment





Strong analogue and digital circuit design capability

Experience developing products from concept through to production

Knowledge of embedded firmware development

Experience with one or more of the following: switch mode power supplies, LED lighting products, battery charging circuits, low-voltage electrical equipment

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and quality standards

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills

Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
