About the role

We are seeking a detail oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to champion and improve our Food Safety Management System (FSMS). Working under the guidance of our QA Manager, you will be our internal authority on audit preparation, risk management, and site wide food safety engagement.

Key responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, DAFF, Safe Food Queensland (SFQ), Halal, Kosher, and customer standards
- Lead external audits for third party certifications and DAFF/SFQ, managing all subsequent CAPA actions
- Plan and conduct internal audits to evaluate FSMS compliance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions
- Report on FSMS results, develop performance reviews and communicate to key stakeholders
- Lead food safety continual improvement projects using risk based change management processes ensuring assessments and validations are carried out and documented
- Coordinate the HACCP Team to assess hazards, establish CCP/OPRP, and maintain current hazard control plans
- Manage nonconformities and complaints, facilitate Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions
- Oversee traceability exercises and mock recalls
- Drive food safety culture by training employees at all levels to build companywide awareness




- Manage documentation; author and update FSMS procedures and instructions

About you

The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related technical discipline
- 3–5 years of QA experience within the food manufacturing industry
- Formal HACCP certification and FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 Internal or Lead Auditor training
- Deep understanding of GFSI schemes, food fraud, and food defence requirements
- Proven technical writing skills and use of RCA tools
- Strong communication skills to work cross functionally and drive site wide improvements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid Australian driver's licence, a reliable car, and full Australian work rights.
