About This Role

Your new role

As a Recreation Officer, you will plan and deliver individual and group recreation programs for inpatients, particularly those experiencing extended hospital stays. Working closely with Allied Health professionals and the multidisciplinary team, you will create meaningful activities that support wellbeing, maintain skills and minimise behaviours of concern. You will also work autonomously on weekends while remaining within your delegated scope of practice.

- Plan and deliver engaging, person-centred recreation programs for inpatients.
- Tailor activities to patients' needs, interests, abilities and preferences.
- Work with Allied Health professionals to support patient wellbeing and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records, equipment and resources while supporting a safe setting.

About You You are a compassionate and creative person who enjoys connecting with others and creating meaningful experiences for patients. You can work confidently within your scope of practice, communicate effectively with consumers and staff, and use initiative to manage your workload independently.

- Experience in recreation, leisure, health or a similar patient-focused role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families and teams.
- Excellent organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.




- Ability to work autonomously while following Allied Health delegation and guidance.

Logan Hospital Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.





We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
