Machells Construction is a growing Melbourne-based construction and labour-hire company supplying reliable, skilled workers to construction projects across Melbourne.

We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with both our workers and our clients. As we continue to grow our labour-hire division, we are looking for a motivated Recruitment Consultant to take ownership of recruitment, workforce coordination and client development.

The Role

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys dealing with people, building relationships and working in the fast-paced construction industry.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong pool of construction workers, placing suitable candidates with our clients and helping develop new labour-hire opportunities.

The role will involve both recruitment and business development, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable speaking with workers, site managers, project managers and construction companies.

Key Responsibilities

- Recruit carpenters, skilled labourers and other construction personnel.
- Advertise available positions across Seek, Indeed, social media, Facebook groups and other recruitment channels.
- Screen and interview potential workers.
- Check experience, references, tickets, licences and right-to-work requirements.
- Build and maintain an active database of reliable construction workers.
- Coordinate worker availability and daily/weekly placements.
- Maintain regular contact with workers currently placed on sites.
- Develop solid relationships with existing Machells Construction clients.
- Contact potential new clients to identify labour-hire requirements.
- Follow up with site managers and project managers regarding upcoming workforce requirements.
- Match workers to projects based on skills,



experience and location.
- Assist with onboarding and compliance documentation.
- Work closely with management to forecast upcoming labour requirements.
- Help ensure workers represent Machells Construction professionally while on client sites.
- Assist in growing the Machells labour-hire division across Melbourne.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Highly organised and able to manage multiple workers and clients.
- Proactive rather than waiting for work to come to them.
- Good at building long-term relationships.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and developing new business.
- Able to work in a fast-moving environment where labour requirements can change quickly.
- Reliable, approachable and professional.
- Familiar with the Melbourne construction industry.

Previous experience in construction recruitment, labour hire or construction would be highly regarded.

We want someone who can build a reliable workforce, keep good workers consistently placed, maintain strong relationships with our existing clients and generate new opportunities for the business.

The right person will play an important part in the continued growth of Machells Construction and will have the opportunity to grow with the company.

Remuneration

Competitive salary based on experience.

We are also open to discussing a performance-based commission or bonus structure linked to successful worker placements and growth of new labour-hire accounts.
