About the role
This is a specialist, trauma-informed, culturally protected and survivor-centered service that offers confidential, practical and emotional support to clients from the commencement of their engagement to the conclusion of their engagement. Reporting to the Manager of Redress, you will provide advice and assistance to clients living in the Midwest and Gascoyne regions and in the Perth Metropolitan area who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse and may be eligible to apply to the National Redress Scheme. The ability to travel to regional and remote communities is essential for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Support Aboriginal clients living in the Midwest and Gascoyne regions and in the Perth Metropolitan area who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse to submit an application to the National Redress Scheme
- Provide advice and assistance to clients in a trauma-informed manner
- Offer confidential, practical and emotional support to clients
- Travel to regional and remote communities as required
About you
- Admitted to practice in Western Australia with a current practising certificate
- Experience working with survivors of child sexual abuse
- Ability to work in a trauma informed manner
- Communicate clearly, respectfully and confidently
- Ability to work effectively with Aboriginal clients and communities
- Value teamwork, cultural responsiveness and social justice
- Willing to travel regionally when required
