Commercial HVAC-R (Darwin & Katherine)

Base Salary from: $83,200 per year + Superannuation with overtime opportunities (based on experience).

Permanent full-time – 40 ordinary hours per week

FRM Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is looking for skilled Service Techs to join our Darwin and Katherine teams. We aren’t just another fridge company; we are one of the Northern Territory’s regional specialists, managing heavy-duty commercial HVAC and refrigeration for national supermarkets, Defence sites, and major government infrastructure.

The Role: What’s on the Job Card?

We need "problem solvers," not just "parts changers." You’ll be out in the field with a high degree of autonomy, handling:

- Diverse Assets: Working on everything from supermarket rack systems and industrial chillers to complex HVAC plant in schools and hospitals.
- Installation & Commissioning: Installing & commissioning commercial refrigeration & air conditioning systems & equipment.
- Technical Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnosing faults & completing repairs across a range of commercial systems and equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance: Maintaining commercial refrigeration & air conditioning stems to ensure reliable & effective operation.
- Project Involvement: Assisting with commission & delivery of high-impact infrastructure projects across the Top End.
- Regional Variety: Katherine-based techs will enjoy a "hub" lifestyle with unique regional work, while Darwin techs handle the buzz of the Territory's largest commercial assets.

What You’ll Bring

- The Qualifications: Trade Qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic.
- The Experience: Proven experience in commercial refrigeration & air conditioning service, including working with complex systems & diagnostics. Experience with Co2 sub and trans critical systems highly regarded.
- The Licences: Current ARCTICK Licence and NT Restricted Electrical Licence (or ability to obtain). A valid Australian or international driver’s licence, with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- The Work Ethic: Reliable self-motivated, safety-focused and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- The Flexibly: Willingness to work in Darwin or Katherine and travel to other locations within the Northern Territory when required.
