Salary range: $123,006 to $133,254 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.

About The Role

The Team Leader Environmental Health plays a key role in protecting and enhancing the health, wellbeing and safety of our community. Leading a team of Environmental Health Officers, you will coordinate the delivery of statutory food, public and environmental health programs, provide expert regulatory advice, and oversee complex compliance, enforcement and public health matters.

This role contributes to the success of the City by providing leadership, technical expertise and strategic direction across environmental health functions. You will monitor emerging trends, drive operational improvements, lead high-level projects and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver positive community outcomes.

Role Accountabilities Include

- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Environmental Health Officers to deliver high quality and consistent outcomes.
- Providing specialist advice on complex environmental, food and public health matters.
- Managing projects, policy development, research and continuous improvement initiatives across environmental health programs.
- Supporting statutory compliance and enforcement activities, including matters requiring legal and tribunal review.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and contributing to regional and state-wide environmental health initiatives.

About You





You are an experienced environmental health professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for protecting public health. You bring a collaborative leadership style, sound judgement and the ability to confidently manage complex regulatory matters in a dynamic environment.

You will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental health, significant professional experience and a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a professional team. Your strong communication, project management and stakeholder engagement skills enable you to influence outcomes, resolve complex issues and deliver high-quality services to the community.
