The Medical Oncology Registered Nurse delivers protected, evidence-based, patient-centred care to people with cancer across the continuum of care. This includes supporting patients from diagnosis through chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy, symptom management, survivorship, and end-of-life care.
About you
- Registered Nurse authorised to practise in Australia by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Proven minimum two years’ post-registration experience (Acute) in medical oncology or a related clinical specialty
- Current Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course (ADAC) certification and demonstrated competence in administering chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies
- Demonstrated competence in venepuncture, peripheral intravenous cannulation, and central venous access device (CVAD) management
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support patients and families in a sensitive and emotionally demanding environment
- Ability to work effectively and calmly in a fast-paced clinical setting, managing competing priorities while maintaining protected, patient-centred care
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognise, escalate, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
