Trinity Health Care Centre is seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Registered Nurse to join our busy and growing general practice in Liverpool.
We are looking for a nurse who is confident working independently within their scope of practice, communicates well with patients and doctors, and has previous experience in an Australian general practice environment.
Key Responsibilities The role will include:
- Childhood and adult immunisations
- Vaccine management and cold-chain monitoring
- Wound care and dressing changes
- Removal of sutures and staples
- Chronic disease management and patient education
- Assisting with GP Chronic Condition Management Plans and reviews
- Health assessments
- Blood pressure, weight, BMI and other clinical observations
- ECGs
- Spirometry
- Urinalysis and other point-of-care testing
- Medication administration and injections
- Iron infusion preparation and patient monitoring
- Diabetes management and education
- Assisting doctors with minor procedures
- Infection prevention and control
- Sterilisation and clinical stock management
- Maintaining emergency equipment and clinical supplies
- Recalls, reminders and preventive health activities
- Accurate clinical documentation and record keeping
- Supporting accreditation requirements and quality improvement activities
- Maintaining a safe and professional clinical workplace
- Working collaboratively with GPs, reception staff and other healthcare professionals
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR certification
- Current immunisation certification or appropriate qualification to administer vaccines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and patient confidentiality
- Good computer and clinical documentation skills
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience working in Australian general practice
- Experience with Best Practice software
- Experience with chronic disease management
- Experience preparing care plans and health assessments
- Experience with wound care
- Experience with ECG and spirometry
- Experience with iron infusions
- Understanding of RACGP accreditation standards and infection-control requirements
