Where you'll be working
You will be based at Nyngan Health Service, a part of the Western NSW Local Health District. The Nyngan Multipurpose Service (MPS) is a 42-bed facility offering both acute and residential aged care services. Nyngan MPS has 24-hour emergency care, palliative care, renal dialysis and a range of ambulatory care and primary and community health services. Nyngan is situated by the Bogan River on the eastern edge of the Great Outback, 583 kilometres northwest of Sydney and less than a two=hour drive from the major city of Dubbo, home to the famous Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Moving to our Region. The Welcome Experience is a free NSW Government service supporting workers (and their families) who have accepted a job with Western NSW LHD in most locations. The service helps with housing, schooling, partner work and community connections.
Selection Criteria
1. Unconditional General and/or Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
2.
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and/or Vocational Recognition as a General Practitioner.
3. Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage.
4. Sound knowledge of and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, work health and safety, working within NSW Health Policy and current clinical practice guidelines.
5. Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Competence in performing the range of procedures commonly undertaken in a rural emergency department.
6. An understanding of patient centred care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team including demonstration of NSW Health CORE values in delivering safe and high quality care.
