About us:

Rockhampton Hospital's 36-bed Surgical Unit provides 24/7 inpatient care for adults aged 17 and over across Central Queensland. The unit supports a broad range of surgical specialties, including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology and Dental, as well as limited Facio-maxillary care for patients awaiting transfer to Brisbane.

About the role:

- Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for patients and their families.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, contributing to holistic care and coordinating nursing activities or shifts when required.
- Support education and professional development by sharing knowledge, educating patients and families, and contributing to a positive learning environment.
- Drive quality and improvement in practice by participating in research, quality improvement initiatives, policy development and care pathways that support better patient outcomes.

About you:

- Current AHPRA/NMBA Registered Nurse registration.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills,



with the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate safe, person-centred care in a changing environment.
- Clear communication and relationship-building skills, working effectively with patients, families, colleagues and the multidisciplinary team.
- Leadership and support capabilities, with the ability to guide and support ENs and AINs and contribute to the CQHHS Nursing and Midwifery Skilled Practice Model.

What we offer: Total monthly remuneration value of up to $10,707 p.m. is comprised of:

- An hourly rate between $44.27 - $56.79 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
