About the Role

The Reporting Business Analyst ensures the successful delivery of high quality analytics and reporting solutions by accurately capturing business requirements and validating delivered outputs through structured testing and quality assurance. Bridging business analysis, analytics delivery and testing, you'll support both client implementations and ongoing enhancements across Protecht's Analytics team.

You'll engage directly with customers and Protecht Advisors to elicit and document requirements, translate these into clear specifications for the Analytics team, and coordinate testing and UAT to ensure every solution meets agreed quality standards before release.

Key Responsibilities

- Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document dashboard, reporting and analytics requirements in a consistent, standardised format.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable specifications for Analytics consultants and developers.
- Work closely with Protecht Advisors as part of Protecht.ERM implementation and advisory teams.
- Act as a key liaison between clients, Analytics consultants and Advisors to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities.
- Define test scenarios, test cases and acceptance criteria, and perform functional testing and data validation of reports and dashboards.




- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defect triage and resolution.
- Maintain requirements artefacts and supporting documentation in tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

About You

- Proven experience gathering and analysing requirements for BI and data visualisation solutions.
- Strong experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Hands on experience using JIRA and Confluence for requirements, testing and delivery tracking.
- Solid understanding of SQL (e.g. MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL), relational databases and data structures.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with proven capability to manage senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Australian citizen or demonstrated right to live and work permanently in Australia.

Desirable Skills

- Experience in risk management or risk related domains.
- Consulting experience, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- SaaS Experience
- Hands on experience with Protecht.ERM or similar GRC platforms.
- Exposure to AI and automation tools for requirements analysis, testing support or data analysis.
- Interest in emerging technologies (AI/ML, generative AI) and their application within BI and business analysis.
