Lead and shape the future of healthcare research across Community and Oral Health by driving innovative research programs, building workforce capability, fostering strategic partnerships and translating evidence into improved patient care and service excellence.

About the role The Research Director provides strategic leadership and expert research advice to advance research capacity, capability and performance across Community and Oral Health (COH). Working within the Innovation and Research Centre, this role leads the development and implementation of research programs, promotes evidence-based practice, and drives the translation of research outcomes into improvements in health service delivery and patient care.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health and corporate service professionals to build a strong research culture, develop strategic partnerships, attract research funding, and strengthen organisational research capability. The role also leads research governance, training, reporting and service improvement initiatives, ensuring high-quality research activity is embedded across COH services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Lead and manage significant clinical research programs that strengthen research capacity and productivity across Community and Oral Health.
- Provide expert advice and strategic leadership on research governance, funding opportunities, research infrastructure and policy.




- Develop and deliver research training programs that build capability among clinicians, researchers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with universities, funding bodies, healthcare services and external stakeholders.
- Oversee research reporting, grant programs, research performance evaluation and the translation of evidence into clinical practice.
