We are seeking a enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail & Sales Assistant (Junior and Senior) to join the team at Poolwerx Gladstone. This is a casual position based in Gladstone, QLD, applicant must be available to work Saturdays and Summer holidays.

As a Retail & Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our business, delivering exceptional customer service whilst supporting the day-to-day retail operations. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for our customers and driving sales through knowledgeable product recommendations and genuine engagement.

What you'll be doing

Greeting customers with a warm, professional demeanour and assisting them with product enquiries and purchases

Providing expert advice on pool maintenance products, equipment and services to help customers find the right solutions

Processing sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handling cash and card payments responsibly

Maintaining a clean, organised and visually appealing retail environment by restocking shelves and arranging displays

Building relationships with regular customers to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty

Assisting with inventory management, including stock counting and reporting on product levels

Supporting promotional activities and campaigns to help drive sales and awareness

Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer experiences

What we're looking for

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner





A genuine enthusiasm for retail and sales, with a customer-first mindset

Basic numeracy skills and competence with point-of-sale systems (training will be provided)

The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a quick-paced retail environment

Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varied hours including weekends if required

Physical capability to lift and move stock items safely

Prior retail or customer service experience is advantageous but not essential; we are willing to train the right candidate

A positive attitude and willingness to learn about pool maintenance products and industry knowledge
