About the role

We are looking for an experienced asset finance broker and team leader to run our in-house broker team as Broker Team Lead. You will lead a team of experienced Finance and Business Managers and admin support, and manage the team's day-to-day operations.

You will be the team's go-to person for tricky applications, lender relationships and finance know-how across the business.

The role reports to the Head of Sales and can be based out of our Chullora (NSW) or Altona North ( VIC) offices -with occasional interstate travel to train our teams in other states.

What you will do

Run the broker team day to day: allocate and rebalance applications, run daily stand-ups on how the pipeline is tracking and what is ageing, and set the team's focus to lift approvals

Write, manage and settle your own finance deals, and step in on live deals as and when required to manage team workload

Coach brokers through complex applications, approve rate discounts, and act as the escalation point for difficult applications and customer complaints

Communicate targets and run team performance conversations

Build and keep robust relationships with lender BDMs, including working through exceptions to get deals over the line

Manage broker accreditations and support the onboarding of new lenders, including setting up their pre-approval rules with our Product team

Improve the tools, trackers and automations the team uses to manage applications

Drive finance penetration by working closely with the sales managers on customer pre-approval and improving the customer finance journey end to end

Hire,



onboard and train new brokers, and train sales associates and relationship managers on finance

Be the strategic thought partner in building the broker commission structure, and the custodian of commission cycles with the finance and payroll team

5+ years of experience as an asset finance broker and / or broker team lead, preferably with a strong track record and career trajectory

Able to meet the requirements to be accredited under Cars24's Australian Credit Licence, including a Cert IV in financial services (or equivalent), a clean police check and a satisfactory credit history

Experience in a team lead role within a broker business, including coaching, targets and performance management

Deep knowledge of car loan products, lender policies and credit assessment, including assessing customers' needs, creditworthiness and affordability

An established network of lender BDMs (good to have)

Strong organisational skills to keep a high-volume pipeline moving while carrying your own deals

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain finance simply to customers and to non-finance colleagues

Comfortable with numbers and data; confident building simple trackers or tools to make the team's work easier

Flexibility to work with new and changing technology platforms

Attention to detail to make sure all I's are dotted and T's are crossed, from the customer loan journey through to commission payouts
