You know the short-staffed shifts, the rosters that change the night before, and the incidents with no debrief. You know what it's like when the decisions get made by someone who's never met the young people you care for.

GROW is different. We're a Tasmanian provider delivering residential Out-of-Home Care, STA and NDIS supports under DECYP contracts. We were named Tasmanian Children's Service Provider of the Year (2024) and Disability Support Service of the Year (2025).

We're now building a North West team from the ground up. We’re hiring 10-12 Residential Youth Workers based in Devonport, and we want experienced, grounded practitioners to shape it.

The pay

• SCHADS Level 2.1 - 3.1 depending on experience and qualifications, plus sleepover allowances and evening, weekend and public holiday penalties

• Pathway to permanent available for the right people The role

• Deliver trauma-informed care to young people in small residential placements

• Support routines, education, family contact, health and independent living skills

• Use de-escalation and relationship-based practice to manage complex behaviours





• Write quality case notes and incident reports, and work alongside Child Safety and behaviour support practitioners

What you can expect from us

• Proper handovers, debriefs after critical incidents, and regular supervision

• Rosters built around real people, with sleepovers, actives and weekend penalties under SCHADS

• Direct access to leadership, not layers of management

• Real progression: we're growing fast, and North West team leader roles will come from this intake

Ideally you'll have

• Residential care, youth work, OOHC or complex disability experience

• Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Disability or similar (or working towards it)

• WWVP registration, National Police Check, driver's licence, First Aid & CPR
