Looking for extra work and available across weekends?

The City of Armadale is looking for experienced and reliable operators to join our Resource Recovery team (Waste) on a casual basis.

This is a hands-on outdoor role supporting the day-to-day operation of the City’s landfill, recycling and resource recovery facilities. You will operate plant and equipment, help customers use the facility safely and contribute to responsible waste and recycling outcomes.

Casual shifts may be available across weekdays and weekends. We are particularly interested in people who can provide regular and reliable weekend availability.

What You'll Be Doing

- Operating landfill compactors, front-end loaders, water trucks, hook-lift trucks, forklifts and other specialist plant
- Completing pre-start inspections and basic operator maintenance
- Directing customers and contractors to the correct disposal and recycling areas
- Sorting, separating and relocating recyclable and reusable materials
- Supporting safe traffic movement around active tipping areas
- Identifying and reporting hazards, plant defects and operational issues
- Assisting with site clean-up, litter removal and general housekeeping
- Supporting the Resource Recovery Centre shop and other site operations when required
- Following the City’s safety and environmental procedures

What you’ll bring

- Experience working in landfill, recycling, civil, transport or similar operations




- Experience safely operating and completing user maintenance on heavy plant and equipment
- A current Construction Induction Card
- A current forklift ticket
- A current Senior First Aid Certificate
- A current C class driver’s licence
- A current HR class driver’s licence
- The ability to obtain a National Police Certificate
- A strong commitment to protected work practices
- The ability to work outdoors and undertake the physical requirements of the role
- Reliable availability, including across weekends
- Experience in cash handling or receipting would be advantageous
