About the role

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality environmental services and making a positive impact in your community? Join our Resource Recovery and Waste Services team as a Resource Recovery Officer - Contracts and play a key role in management and continuous improvement of Council's waste and resource recovery services.

Working closely with contractors, residents, businesses, and internal stakeholders, you will support the delivery of essential waste services, ensure contract compliance, analyse operational performance, and contribute to service improvements that enhance customer experience and environmental outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in contract management, operational service delivery, and resource recovery initiatives within local government.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage customer enquiries, service requests and applications relating to waste and resource recovery services, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
- Liaise with contractors, residents, businesses and internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve service issues while maintaining high service standards.
- Support contract administration activities, including performance monitoring, service reviews, reporting and compliance requirements.
- Conduct operational inspections to identify service improvements and monitor contractor performance.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, correspondence and reporting systems relating to waste services and contract management.




- Analyse operational and service performance data to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the development and implementation of waste and recycling projects, operational plans, procedures and customer education programs.
- Reconcile service data, process invoices, investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Council requirements.

About the person We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving, working collaboratively with stakeholders and contributing to the delivery of high-quality community services.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Qualifications in customer service, environmental management, waste management, contract management, business administration, or related discipline, or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Experience in contract administration, contractor management, service delivery, or waste and resource recovery operations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively resolve issues and manage difficult situations.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to interpret operational and financial data.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and correspondence preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, and experience using business systems such as TechnologyOne.




- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
