THE OPPORTUNITY

This is retail leadership where you can actually see your impact, on the floor, in the numbers, and in the people you coach. Viva Leisure is on the hunt for a Retail Area Manager to lead a portfolio of sites across ACT, VIC and NSW, with sales performance, operational standards and team capability all part of your patch. Your primary focus is our fast-growing Supp Society brand, with scope to support other retail brands across the network as we expand. Regular travel across the portfolio will be a key part of the role. You'll be across in-club sites and standalone stores alike, working shoulder to shoulder with Club, Facility and Store Managers to sharpen sales capability, lift service standards and get every site firing with the same consistency. You'll help steer the area retail budget, dig into performance site by site and jump on the numbers that need attention before they become a problem. You'll be setting the pace, backing your managers and building a culture people genuinely want to be part of.

Reporting to the National Retail Manager, you're the link between what happens in store and where the whole retail strategy is heading nationally and online. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Set and track sales targets across your portfolio, coaching managers to lead and develop high-performing retail teams
- Conduct regular site visits, audits and stocktakes to maintain operational standards, consistency and food safety compliance
- Manage stock budgets, supplier relationships and margins (minimum 40% GP), driving corrective action to protect profitability
- Contribute to budget preparation, forecasting and performance reporting to the National Retail Manager
- Build sales capability through on-floor coaching, product knowledge training and performance management
- Maintain expert knowledge of the supplement and smoothie range, delivering product training and building supplier relationships
- Read market and competitor trends to shape regional retail strategy, promotions and campaigns
- Champion consistent service standards that support member satisfaction and align retail with the broader club experience

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with: Skills & Experience

- Proven experience in multi-site retail operations, ideally within supplements, sports nutrition, health food or fast-paced consumer retail
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving sales growth and managing gross margin
- Hands-on people leadership and coaching skills,



with the ability to build store manager capability across a dispersed team
- Excellent organisational discipline to manage a high-volume, multi-site workload without letting standards slip
- Clear, confident communication, direct with store teams and structured with senior leadership
- Strong integrity and professionalism, with the ability to role model Viva Leisure's values
- Solid product knowledge across supplement categories, ideally from an Area Manager, Area Performance Coach or multi-site Retail Manager background in sports nutrition or supplements
- Understanding of stock management, cash handling, wage cost control and relevant compliance and safety standards
- Confidence with POS and inventory systems (Shopify and Retail Express experience a plus) and using data to drive decisions

Education & Qualifications

- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Food handling certification (required given smoothie bar operations across multiple locations)
- A Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People check may be required depending on location
- Tertiary qualifications in business, retail or commerce highly regarded but not essential
