Assistant Store Manager — Paddington

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Assistant Store Manager to support the leadership of our Sydney Flagship Store. This is a fixed-term full-time position.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can operate at pace, lead floor operations day to day, and help build a high-performing retail environment. You will work closely with the Store Manager, Retail Operations Manager, and Head Office team to ensure seamless execution across all areas of the business.

You will support staff management and role assignment across the floor, monitor performance against sales and service targets, and help deliver a premium in-store customer experience that reflects the Mode Mischief brand.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and leading floor operations, ensuring operational excellence and efficiency
- Lead, motivate, and develop the retail team to achieve and exceed sales targets and service standards
- Coordinate staff management and role assignment across the floor, ensuring the right coverage at the right times
- Monitor individual and store performance against targets, providing feedback and coaching to support growth




- Work closely with the Retail Operations Manager and Head Office to align store performance with company objectives
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, and onboarding to maintain a skilled and engaged team
- Drive consistent visual merchandising standards and maintain store presentation to brand guidelines
- Support opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and loss prevention efforts
- Proactively identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions
- Represent the brand with professionalism and integrity at all times

Qualifications and Experience

- Proven experience in retail supervisory or management roles, ideally within fast-paced, high-volume environments
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to enforce operational standards and compliance
- Knowledge of visual merchandising best practices
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic workplace with competing priorities
- Knowledge and passion for the brand
