What makes a customer shop online but not in-store? Which promotions genuinely change behaviour? And how do you turn a one-time shopper into a loyal, high-value customer?
We’re partnering with an established Australian retail group that operates multiple recognised consumer brands across e-commerce and a large physical store network.
They’re looking for a hands-on analyst who can connect online and in-store customer behaviour, uncover commercial opportunities and help CRM, Digital, Marketing and brand teams make better decisions.
This is an ideal next step for a retail or e-commerce analyst who wants greater influence while remaining close to the data.
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with the Group Head of CRM and Customer Engagement, you’ll:
- Analyse purchasing behaviour across e-commerce and physical stores
- Connect customer, transaction, CRM, digital and point-of-sale data
- Examine basket size, purchase frequency, product preferences and channel behaviour
- Identify acquisition, retention, churn, reactivation and cross-sell opportunities
- Build customer segments, cohorts and targeted campaign audiences
- Explore how customers move between online and in-store channels
- Measure CRM, email, SMS, promotional and loyalty campaign performance
- Assess whether promotions create incremental sales or shift existing purchases
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and customer reporting
- Turn customer insights into practical recommendations for CRM, Digital, Marketing and brand teams
What you’ll bring
- Around three to five years’ experience in customer analytics,
CRM insights, retail analytics or commercial BI
- Experience analysing B2C customer behaviour within retail or e-commerce
- Exposure to both online transactions and physical store or point-of-sale data
- Strong hands-on SQL skills
- Practical Power BI experience, including data modelling and dashboard development
- Experience with customer segmentation, cohorts, campaign measurement, retention or churn
- An understanding of retail metrics such as basket size, purchase frequency, repeat rate and promotional response
- The ability to explain complex analysis clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- A curious, commercial and collaborative approach
Experience within fashion, grocery, department stores, specialty retail, loyalty or another high-volume consumer setting would be particularly valuable.
Why consider it?
- Work across multiple established retail brands
- Analyse the complete customer journey across digital and physical channels
- See your recommendations translated into campaigns and commercial decisions
- Partner with CRM, Digital, E-commerce, Marketing and brand leaders
- Join a business investing in how it understands and grows its customers
- Continue developing both your technical capability and commercial influence
Salary: $130,000–$140,000 + superannuation
Location: Inner South Sydney
Working arrangement: Four days in the office and one day from home
If you understand the difference between reporting what customers did and uncovering what the business should do next, we’d love to hear from you.
