Position: Retail Store Manager

Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000 per annum + 12% superannuation

Seymour Building Supplies is an established Sydney supplier of building materials, hardware, plumbing and landscaping products, servicing skilled trades, builders and retail customers since 1985.

Our extensive product range includes building supplies, bricks and blocks, cement products, steel reinforcement, plumbing and waterproofing products, hand and power tools, rendering and plastering materials, landscaping supplies and general hardware.

We are seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Gladesville store and maintain high standards of customer service, stock management and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store and maintain high customer service standards.
- Determine appropriate product ranges and stock levels based on customer demand and business requirements.
- Coordinate purchasing, supplier relationships, pricing and stock replenishment.
- Promote and advertise the store's products and services to trade and retail customers.




- Assist customers with product selection and provide advice on the use of building, hardware, plumbing and landscaping products.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions and assist with store budgeting.
- Monitor sales performance, stock turnover, costs and product margins.
- Recruit, train, supervise and roster retail staff.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and maintain a safe, organised retail environment.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers and delivery staff to ensure efficient store operations.

About You The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Experience in retail store management or supervision, preferably in building supplies, hardware, construction materials or a similar industry.
- Strong stock control, inventory management and purchasing skills.
- Sound understanding of retail pricing, margins, sales performance and budgeting.
- Strong customer service and sales skills.
- Experience supervising and training staff.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
