Job Description

We are looking for an On-site Trades Assistant to work alongside our Technicians when onsite. You will be responsible for providing accurate inspections and high-quality testing of equipment on customer sites after initial training and competency testing. This includes communicating with on-site teams, following WHS practices and individual site requirements. The role involves up to 7-10 days per month working away from home doing on-site visits to Hunter Valley, Mudgee, Ulan, Gunnedah and Narrabri areas. When not on-site, this role will form part of the workshop team based at Rutherford, servicing and repairing tooling and equipment. At PERSAS we work 38 hours/4 day week with every Friday off, unless you would like to pick up some overtime on a Friday when available.

Key responsibilities n

Assist with and perform interval inspection of tooling and equipment to ensure safety and compliance

n

Carry out tooling and equipment testing using specialised testing equipment in onsite test trucks

n

Enter accurate equipment information and test results into asset management system through a tablet

n

Clearly communicate with site staff regarding equipment failures and compliance

n

Make minor repairs to onsite equipment according to OEM

n





Accurately record and monitor inventory usage onsite

n

Work safely and follow all operational and WHS workshop and site procedures

About you n

Mechanical knowledge and aptitude, working around small tools, engines etc.

n

Experience working with Hydraulic and Pneumatic tools an advantage

n

A safety-first mindset is a must have

n

Ability to travel and work away from home as required when on-site

n

Robust communication and interpersonal skills

n

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues

n

Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office and tablet use

n

A can-do attitude with a desire to learn

n

Must undertake and pass an Order 45 Coal Board Medical

n

Undertake regular drug and alcohol testing while at workshop and sites
