About the role

Rex J Andrews is seeking an experienced and motivated SA Operations Manager to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating transport operations, drivers, subcontractors, compliance, permits, fleet scheduling, customer requirements, and workplace safety across South Australia. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all operational activities are delivered safely, efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest professional standard within the heavy haulage and transport industry.

This role requires a strong leader with excellent organisational skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for business growth and operational expansion
- Assist with pricing, quotations, and tender submissions
- Coordinate daily transport operations to meet customer and project requirements
- Allocate work schedules for drivers and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with fatigue management, legal driving hours, NHVAS/WAHVA, and load restraint requirements
- Manage company drivers and subcontractors




- Ensure all drivers maintain required inductions, passes, and permits
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
- Apply for oversize/over mass permits and clearances

About you

- Previous experience in transport, logistics, or heavy haulage operations management
- Strong understanding of NHVAS/WAHVA and fatigue management compliance
- Knowledge of load restraint and oversize/over mass transport regulations
- Experience coordinating drivers, subcontractors, and fleet scheduling
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- Competent computer and administration skills
- Current Driver's Licence
- White Card
- WHS knowledge and understanding
- Heavy vehicle industry OSOM experience
