Phone Repair Technician — Sales & Customer Service
Allfone Tech Hub
Skilled in phone repairs? Confident with sales and serving customers? Join the Allfone Tech Hub team. We’re looking for a reliable, experienced phone technician who takes pride in quality repairs and can deliver great service at the front counter. Repair skills, sales experience and the ability to confidently serve customers are essential for this role.
About Us
Allfone Tech Hub is a Townsville business providing mobile phone and tablet repairs, accessories and device support. We focus on quality workmanship, honest advice and helping customers find the right solution for their needs. We’re looking for someone who shares that approach—someone who cares about getting repairs right, communicates clearly and treats customers and teammates with respect.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position combining device repairs, retail sales and customer service at our Hermit Park store. You’ll diagnose faults, complete repairs, test devices and keep customers informed. You’ll also serve customers, answer enquiries, recommend suitable accessories and services, and process sales.
You must be comfortable moving between the repair bench and the front counter, managing your workload and working independently when required. This is not a repair-only position—providing helpful customer service and contributing to sales are significant parts of the job.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair devices: Assess faults and carry out screen, battery, back glass and small-part replacements on iPhones, Samsung phones and other devices within your capabilities.
- Check repair quality: Complete pre-repair and post-repair testing, document findings and identify any outstanding issues before a device is returned.
- Serve customers: Welcome customers, answer enquiries, explain repair options, provide quotes and communicate realistic timeframes.
- Support sales:
Understand customers’ needs and recommend suitable cases, screen protectors, charging accessories and repair services.
- Maintain accurate records: Process sales and payments, keep repair notes up to date and communicate repair progress clearly.
- Manage your workload: Organise repair jobs, keep track of outstanding work and communicate with management when a repair needs further support.
- Care for the workplace: Maintain a safe, clean and organised workbench, handle customer devices carefully and respect customer privacy.
What We’re Looking For
You must have:
- Hands-on phone repair experience, including confidence working on iPhones and Samsung devices.
- Previous sales experience, with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Strong customer service skills, including confidently serving customers, handling enquiries and explaining technical issues in everyday language.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to thorough testing and quality workmanship.
- Reliability, initiative and good communication, including the ability to work independently, contribute to the team and follow store procedures.
Experience repairing tablets, working with other Android brands or carrying out more advanced diagnostics would be an advantage.
What Matters to Us
Quality and honesty: Take pride in your work, give accurate advice and be upfront when a repair needs further assessment. Customer care: Listen to customers,
explain their options clearly and recommend solutions that suit their needs.
Teamwork and respect: Communicate professionally with management and teammates, raise concerns constructively and help keep the store running smoothly.
Accountability: Arrive ready for your shifts, take responsibility for your work and follow through on commitments.
