Gateway Group is looking for an experienced Sandblaster / Industrial Blaster to join our growing team in High Wycombe.

This role will primarily support the preparation of hydraulic cylinders, heavy components and mobile mining equipment & parts prior to repair, coating, painting and refurbishment.

We are specifically looking for someone who has previous experience working with sandblasting of mobile mining equipment or heavy engineering components and understands the level of preparation and care required when handling large, high-value components.

Key Responsibilities

- Abrasive blasting of hydraulic cylinders, components and mobile mining equipment.
- Surface preparation prior to painting, coating and repair.
- Blasting of components from mining and earthmoving equipment.
- Prepare surfaces to the required cleanliness and finish standards.
- Mask and protect machined surfaces, threads, seal areas and other critical features prior to blasting.
- Inspect components before and after blasting.
- Safely handle large and heavy components using forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Maintain blasting equipment and ensure the blasting area is kept clean and operational.
- Work closely with our hydraulic, machining, coating and workshop teams.
- Follow Gateway's safety, quality and environmental procedures.

About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous sandblasting / abrasive blasting experience.
- Experience in sandblasting of mobile mining, earthmoving or heavy equipment & components is essential.
- Experience with hydraulic cylinders and heavy engineering components would be highly regarded.




- Valuable understanding of surface preparation requirements.
- Experience masking and protecting machined and critical surfaces.
- Confidence working with large and heavy components.
- Forklift licence preferred.
- Overhead crane experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and follow workshop procedures.
- Reliable and punctual work habits.
- A practical, hands-on approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
