Position Title Application Packaging & SCCM/Intune Administrator Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Packaging & SCCM/Intune Administrator Specialist responsible for enterprise application packaging, software deployment, endpoint management, and administration of Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and Microsoft Intune. The role will focus on packaging and deploying applications across Windows endpoints, managing software distribution, maintaining deployment infrastructure, troubleshooting application and endpoint issues, and supporting the organization's transition toward modern cloud-based endpoint management using Intune. Key Responsibilities

Application Packaging Create, modify, test, and maintain Windows application packages using tools such as MSI, MSIX, Win32, InstallShield, Advanced Installer, and PowerShell. Repackage legacy applications into enterprise-ready deployment formats. Develop installation, uninstallation, detection, remediation, and rollback scripts. Create application detection rules, dependencies, supersedence, and deployment requirements. Perform application compatibility testing across supported Windows versions. Troubleshoot installation failures, application conflicts, registry issues, services, permissions, and prerequisite dependencies. Maintain application packaging documentation and deployment standards. Coordinate application packaging and deployment activities with application owners, infrastructure teams, and service desk teams. SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager Administer and support Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) infrastructure. Create and manage applications, packages, task sequences, collections, deployments, and software updates. Manage application deployments to user and device collections. Configure deployment types, requirements, dependencies, supersedence, and detection methods. Support operating system deployment (OSD), task sequences, and Windows imaging. Manage software inventory, hardware inventory, compliance settings, and reporting. Monitor deployment status and troubleshoot failed or unsuccessful deployments. Analyze SCCM client health and resolve client installation, communication, and policy issues. Troubleshoot using SCCM/MECM logs such as AppDiscovery.log, AppEnforce.log, CAS.log,



ContentTransferManager.log, LocationServices.log, and ExecMgr.log. Support software update and patch deployment activities.

Microsoft

Intune / Endpoint Management Administer Microsoft Intune for modern Windows endpoint management. Package and deploy Win32 applications using the .intunewin format. Configure application assignments, requirements, dependencies, superdense, and detection rules.

Manage

Windows configuration profiles, compliance policies, security policies, and endpoint protection policies.

Support Windows

Autopilot enrolment and device provisioning. Manage device enrolment, configuration, application deployment, and compliance.

Troubleshoot

Intune application and policy deployment issues.

Analyse Intune Management

Extension logs and endpoint-side diagnostics. Support migration of workloads from SCCM/MECM to Intune using co-management and modern management approaches. PowerShell & Automation Develop PowerShell scripts for application installation, configuration, detection, remediation, and automation. Automate repetitive administrative and deployment tasks. Create proactive remediation scripts for endpoint configuration and application issues. Maintain reusable scripting standards and documentation. Troubleshooting & Support Investigate and resolve application deployment and installation failures.

Provide

Level 2/Level 3 support for endpoint management and software deployment issues.

Analyze Windows Event

Viewer, registry, MSI logs, SCCM logs, Intune logs, and application-specific logs. Work with vendors and application owners to resolve complex packaging and deployment problems. Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.

Required Skills &

Experience 5 years of experience in application packaging and enterprise endpoint management. Strong hands-on experience with SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Intune. Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 administration and enterprise application deployment.





Experience creating and troubleshooting MSI, EXE, MSIX, and Win32 application packages.

Strong

PowerShell scripting skills.

Experience with application detection methods, requirements, dependencies, superdense, and deployment models.

Experience with SCCM software distribution, collections, deployments, task sequences, and client troubleshooting.

Experience with Intune application deployment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and Windows Autopilot. Positive understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificates, and Windows networking. Experience with software patching and Windows update management. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively with infrastructure, security, application, and service desk teams.

Preferred Skills Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

Experience with SCCM–Intune co-management. Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Analytics.

Experience with Advanced Installer, InstallShield, Admi Studio, or Master Packager. Knowledge of MSIX/AppX packaging.

Experience with Windows Autopilot and provisioning packages. Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Knowledge of ITIL processes and enterprise change management.

Experience with application virtualization technologies such as App-V is an advantage.

Certifications Preferred certifications include: Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: Windows Client / Modern Desktop Administrator or equivalent Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate ITIL Foundation.
